Located on Chiswell Street, in an historic part of Islington, our gastropub and restaurant provide a unique dining experience with locally sourced food, hand selected drinks menu, and cosy, traditional decor.
The Jugged Hare is available for bookings for private events and occasions. With eclectic taxidermy and whimsical illustrations of game lining the walls and cosy red leather nooks, The Jugged Hare is a truly British venue suited to any occasion. We can accommodate up to 50 guests seated and 75 standing in our Josephine Room, with vaulted ceilings and restored champagne racks.

We’re very close to the Barbican and will gladly accommodate you for any pre-show food and drinks. You won’t need to specifically make a private booking for any pre-theatre meals unless you are part of a large group and anticipate needing a private booking.

The Jugged Hare is the choice venue for wedding receptions opting for a traditional and vintage feel. Held in our Josephine Room, wedding receptions at The Jugged Hare are an unforgettable, exclusive event. The Josephine Room is named after the prestige cuvée of Joseph Perrier Champagne, and also the namesake of the famous Champagne maker’s daughter. Josephine is a characterful private room with exposed brick walls, vaulted ceilings, and restored Champagne racks. For private dining, the space can accommodate up to 22 on a long table, 32 on a horseshoe shaped table and up to 50 on round tables.
